Graduate students in 麻豆天美传媒鈥檚 Coordinated MS in Nutrition and Dietetics program are preparing to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) who understand the powerful role food plays in health and healing. At the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Cooking Studio in Pleasantville, NY, students gain hands-on experience in functional foods and culinary nutrition that complements their clinical and academic training. This experiential learning environment is a core element of the curriculum, rooted in the belief that food is medicine and that culinary skills are essential to advancing health and wellness.

Through dynamic, faculty-led courses, students develop both practical cooking techniques and the pedagogical skills needed to become effective nutrition educators. In this setting, they learn to confidently teach culinary nutrition to individuals and communities, promoting healthy behaviors and supporting long-term wellness. The program emphasizes functional foods, integrative nutrition, health equity, sustainability, and cultural awareness, preparing students to lead behavior change in clinical, community, and public health settings as future RDNs.

Courses that incorporate the Teaching Kitchen experience include:

  • ND 511 Functional Foods and Integrative Nutrition
  • ND 540 Nutrition Across the Lifespan
  • ND 660 Food and Nutrition of World Cultures
